White noise and happy endings

The similarity between Happy Ending and white noise is in the end they all die. the way death is shown in white noise is when jack and Babette will die. in happy endings all of the endings end in the two of them dieing. The important question is how and why we die. These two are very similar because they they have smaller stories within the major story. as you compare the two you notice how much the two of them are similar. Margaret Atwood would love the way White Noise was written.

GIRL SCOUTS COOKIES

The girl scouts and them selling girl scouts cookies is conditioning the girls to have to strive and work hard in order for them to progress in life. Its showing the girls how much they need to do in order for them to make money and succeed. them selling cookies gives them a better understanding of how hard life really is and that not everything will be as easy as selling cookies. when society sees them doing this they think how great and hard working the young girls are. It gives the girls a view of innocents and i think that society has better respect for them and thinks that they are actually out there trying unlike the boys scouts. ya the girls scout cookies own like who wouldn't buy those legit cookies you would have to be crazy not to.

DECONSTRUCTION OF WORDS

For the deconstruction of words assignment I did it with Amy. She asked what time it was so i answered back asking her what time is? so we got into a lengthy discussion about time and after about the third try of telling me what time is she used the word thing and it was over. I noticed how easy it is just to use the word thing to describe the meaning of time or any situation. it is impossible for us to describe something with out using the word "thing". so ya its just a toast and postmodern stuff nuttin to freak about.

Writers

I dont think that the characters of a tv show represent what the writer is trying to present. I think in order for a show to be popular or liked it needs to have those types of things in it in order to keep the audience interested. I think that the writers are just trying to please the audience and take things from the pass that brought audiences in. So i dont think that the writers put these things in their writing to nesssacarily to affend people but to bring people in and make the show popular. we all know that shows that have a different view and mix are much better to watch then some old sho where its boring and follow the rules and everyone is a winner mantality.

What is Art???

I think that art is viewed differently to everyone. Art is opinionated, and everyone has their own opinion on what art is and what isn't art. "If only the spectators or auditors are infected by the feelings which the author has felt, it is art" (Leo Tolstoy). The way someone one considers art I think is how well they relate to it and wither they feel like them and the artist had a connection. If the person and relate to the art then they would have a better understanding on where the artist is coming from. "Art begins when one person, with the object of joining another or others to himself in one and the same feeling, expresses that feeling by certain external indications" (Leo Tolstoy). The more people that the artist can relate with they gain more popularity and people began to put that as their standard of art. I think that our opinion of art comes from a standard of art that the culture has already set. Art is based on personal standards and what you think is art.

From From Sand Creek Poem

In the poem From From Sand Creek you can see that there is many different dissorders. One of the dissordes that he uses is "I couldn't have stolen anything; my life was stolen already". this maybe refering to two different things steeling something from the store of how his life has already been stolen. I think he is referring to his life since it talks more about it further in the poem. Another dissorder is how he use the the line "My life. My life". its weriod how he didnt just put commans in between them but instead he pust a period. he must be doing this to show sometype of meaning to his life possibly. In all we can tell the the poem is an interesting piece of work and you could break it down in many different ways.

Breakdown of Words

I think that the breakingdown of words and meanings lies in an inadequate system of language. in the english language me can easily mix up words and use them out of context. everytime we try to describe something or explain it it always come to the word "thing". this just shows how limited our english is becoming and how we dont try to explain it the only way around this is trying to explain things is through drawing, music, types of art. you can also use movment or actins to get your points across. we will never be able to have a full understanding of what reality is and what it is about. but we can only face the reality that we do know and base our wording and describing things.
